Washington-Lee High School Class of 1972 Reunion
We all grew up in Arlington County, a county with no towns but with many different recognizable areas and great neighborhoods: Arlington National Cemetery and the Pentagon are internationally recognizable, but for our Classmates we remember: Crystal City, Rosslyn, Bon Air, Bluemont, Ballston, Cherrydale, Westover, Dominion Hills, Clarendon, Parkington, Lyon Village, Buckingham, Hall’s Hill, Overlee Knolls, Maywood, and Arlington Forest just to name a few. Our W-L classmates were made up of students born in the metro area and many more who moved from other towns and cities with military families and transplants.
Our student body was the best of Arlington. Who remembers checking out all the cool cars in the senior parking lot? We wish we could have kept some of them today, as they would be classics. Who recalls driving all across ArlingtonCounty to visit friends, grab a late-night snack, date nights, sporting events and finding an elusive party? Lucky for us gasoline was cheap then, so cruising all over Arlington was just easy to do and lots of fun, cramming as many friends as possible in our cars. W-L School Spirit lives on!
Our classmates moved on after graduation and many moved out of Arlington to careers, marriages, and families (children and grandchildren). With social media we can see our classmates in pictures. When you come to our class reunion, you can see all your classmates and greet them in person, face to face.
NOW IT IS TIME FOR OUR 45th W-L HIGH SCHOOL CLASS REUNION!
Date: November 3rd, 4th, and 5th, 2017
Location: Hilton McLean Tysons Corner
Events: Friday night cocktails, Saturday morning Tour of W-L,
Reunion Party & Dinner and Sunday Breakfast
When we all get together, again, for this reunion, time will stop and we will be drawn back to 1972 catching up with our classmates like it was just yesterday. Conversations will continue where they left off and a whole new chapter will open up with 45 years of news. We will see how well we can remember 1972 and recognize faces and names again. You can bet there will be lots of laughing and maybe a few tears.
Our reunion will include a performance by Bob Divine and his band the Fabulous Dialtones who will be playing all the Classic Rock and Roll songs you all remember. We will display memorabilia from our Class of 1972. We will have dinner, dancing and lots of conversation. You can even have your photo taken with old (and new) friends.
For this reunion, we would like to have a record turnout. We are trying to reach everyone from the Class of 1972. We should have classmates traveling across the country and maybe a few from around the world. It will be a fantastic party that we are sure everyone will enjoy.
We hope to see all of you!
Sincerely, Your W-L Class of 1972 Reunion Committee
Gail Combs Bradley, Bob Divine, Sue Evans, David Gill, Gary McInturff, Claudia Tyner Offutt, Cindi Payne Steger, Kathy Poole Wallace and Nancy Sweeney Zeigler
